If Scruton were
to like contemporary songs, what contemporary songs would he like and dislike?
I know from
the reading that Scruton’s has a high dislike for contemporary music. This question
serves as enjoyment and a prediction as to what music Scruton would enjoy if he
ever opened up to contemporary music.
I think Scruton
would like the song “Stereo Love” By Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina from 2009.
However, I think he would like the instrumental version of the song since he is
used to hearing classical music without lyrics. Maybe Scruton can give contemporary
music a chance by listening to the instrumental versions.
Scruton will most likely dislike any contemporary
song with lyrics. But, songs that he will have a high dislike for
would be ones that annoy the majority of us because they do not have a deep meaning
behind them and they are repetitive, for example the song, “You’re a Jerk” by New Boyz from 2009. In this
song Scruton can say that it’s just about the personality and people are not truly listening.
People go crazy when they hear this song and break out into uncontrolled chaos.
